Does Tim Walz think we still want to hear from him?

A disastrous campaign doesn’t seem to have sparked any reflection

If you thought an embarrassing loss in November would result in Tim Walz taking a hint, you thought wrong. The Democratic party is seeing its popularity continue to decline, even from that low point. A recent NBC poll showed the party’s favorability rating hitting a low not seen since 1990.

If you thought an embarrassing loss in November would result in Tim Walz taking a hint, you thought wrong. The Democratic party is seeing its popularity continue to decline, even from that low point. A recent NBC poll showed the party’s favorability rating hitting a low not seen since 1990.

Yet Walz seems hell bent on sticking around. This leads those of us who just suffered through his three month stint as a vice presidential candidate to ask: are the Dems really doing this again?

Despite the lack of demand, Walz is riding a non-existent wave of momentum and making headlines as he goes. While appearing on the This Is Gavin Newsom podcast, Walz and Newsom tried to unpack why the Democrat party is losing support from men.

Of course, who better to expound on this topic than the man who was specifically selected as Harris’ running mate to help improve her standing with the male demographic, and managed to make things worse for her! He is an expert in this field.

Walz eagerly jumped in and explained to the Governor of California why the Trump campaign was able to portray the Democrats as weak. “We buy their frame on these issues of sexuality,” he lamented before adding, “I think I could kick most of their ass.”

Holy toxic masculinity! And this coming from the guy who CNN’s Dana Bash once theorized would appeal to men in the country, “who might not be the sort of testosterone-laden” types.

The Democrat party needs to widen its tent in the next election. Is threatening to beat people up the best strategy? Who’s to say.

A few days later while speaking to a crowd in Wisconsin, Walz offered up a tip for anyone who might “need a boost” during the day. “There’s this thing on my phone, I know some of you know this, on the iPhone. They’ve got that little stock app,” he held up his iPhone to the crowd. “I added Tesla to it to give me a little boost during the day,” he said before exclaiming, “225 and dropping!”

Unlike his ass-kicking talk on Newsom’s podcast, this didn’t feel like an off-the-cuff comment. It felt like a rehearsed bit, an ill-advised stand-up routine in which Walz proudly admitted that he is actively rooting for the downfall of an American automotive company. What doesn’t help is the fact that, as was revealed during the election, Walz doesn’t own any stocks.

The unwise crack is even more appalling considering Tesla is currently dealing with politically-motivated domestic terrorists vandalizing and destroying its vehicles. But hey, maybe those arson sprees just serve as another “boost” for Walz. Before the election, Kamala Harris revealed that choosing Tim Walz as her running mate came down to a “gut decision”. Kamala Harris should never trust her gut again.
